DRESS
Skirt
Using 2 3/4mm needles and A, cast on 84 stitches for entire lower edge.
K. 3 rows.
Cut off A. Join on B.
Proceed in st.st. decreasing as follows: 
Row 1: (Right side) * K.12, k.2 tog., rep. from * to end: 78 stitches.
Row 2: P.
Row 3: * K.11, k.2 tog.. rep. from * to end: 72 stitches.
Row 4: P.
Row 5: * K.10, k.2 tog., rep. from * to end: 66 stitches.
Row 6: P.
Continue in this way, decreasing 6 stitches on every alternate row until a row has been worked thus: * k.4, k.2 tog., rep. from * to end: 30 stitches.
Next row: P.

Bodice
Always pass the yam not in use loosely across the wrong side of the knitting to avoid drawing in the work.

To Divide for Armholes
Next row: With B, k.10, k.2 tog., turn and leave remaining stitches on a spare needle.

Next row: Cast off 8. k. to end: 3 stitches. 
P. 1 row. 
Cast off for shoulder.
With right side facing, join B to inner end of stitches. On spare needle, k.2 tog., k.2 B, 8 A, 2 B, k.2 tog., with B, turn and leave remaining stitches on the spare needle.

Work on these 14 stitches. for front as follows: Row 1: P.3 B. 8 A. 3 B.

Sleeves
Using 2 3/4 mm needles and A, cast on 14 stitches. K. 3 rows.
Cut off A. Join on B.
Proceed in st.st. but inc. 1 st. each end of 7th and following 8th row: 18 stitches.
Beg. p. row, work 7 rows st.st., so ending p. Row.

Shape Top
Dec. 1 st. each end of next and every following alternate row until 10 stitches remain. P. 1 row. Cast off.

Neckband
Join shoulder seams. With right side facing, join A to left back neck and using a 2 3/4 mm needle, 
pick up and k.8 stitches up left side of back neck, 8 stitches. 
From front neck and 8 stitches. down right side of back neck: 24 stitches.
K. 2 rows. Cast off loosely.

TO MAKE UP
See ball band for pressing and washing details. Join sleeve seams, and then set in sleeves. 
Join back seam of skirt, beginning 1/2 in. below waist. Sew 2 press fasteners onto back opening. 
Using B, make a twisted cord and link it through stitches each side of front panel to form a lacing effect.

PANTS
Using 2 3/4 mm needles and A, cast on 16 stitches. `or waist.
K. 1 row.
Beg. k. row, proceed in st.st. but shape for leg openings as follows.
Dec. 1 st. each end of next and every following alternate row until 4 stitches remain ending p. row.
Work 6 rows st.st
Inc. 1 st. each end of next and every following alternate row until there are 18 stitches, so ending k. row.
K. 1 row.
Cast off for waist.

Leg Edgings
With right side facing, join on A and using a 2 3/4 mm needle, pick up and k26 stitches evenly along leg opening.
K. 1 row. Cast off.
Join side seams. Insert shirring elastic round waist.

BOOTS
Using 2j/4 mm needles and A, cast on 18 stitches. for top edge.
K. 1 row.
Proceed in st.st. but dec. 1 st. each end of 3rd and every following 6th row until 10 stitches remain.
Beg. p. row, work 5 rows st.st.. so ending p. row.
Next row: [K.2 tog.] 5 times: 5 stitches.
Cut off yam leaving a long end. Thread end through remaining stitches, draw up tightly and secure, then join back seam.
Using B, embroider on laces up centre of each boot.

HAT
Using 2 3/4mm needles and B, cast on 17 stitches. for brim.
Row 1: K.
Row 2: P.2 tog., p. to last 2 stitches, p.2 tog. 
Row 3: K.2 tog., k. to last 2 stitches k.2 tog. Row 4: K. to mark hemline.
Row 5: K. twice into first st., k. to last st., k. twice into last st.
Row 6: P. twice into first st., p. to last st., p. twice into last st.: 17 stitches.
Row 7: K.

This completes the brim.

Next row: Cast on 14, then [p.1, k.1 ] 7 times across these 14 stitches p. to end. 
Next row: Cast on 14, then [k.l , p. l ] 7 times across these 14 stitches., k.17, [p.1, k.1 ] 7 times: 45 stitches.
Next row: [P.1, k.1 ] 7 times, p.17, [k.1. p.1 ] 7 times.

Join on .A and k. 2 rows. Cut off A.
With B, work 14 rows st.st. Cast off.

Crown
Using 2 3/4 mm needles and B, cast on 8 stitches. Proceed in st.st. but inc. 1 st. each end of 3rd and every following alternate row until there are 14 stitches.
Work 3 rows st.st.
Dec. 1 st. each end of next and every following alternate row until 8 stitches. remain. 
P. 1 row. Cast off.
Join centre back seam, then sew crown in position. Fold brim to wrong side along hemline and slipstitch in position. Using A. embroider motif on front of hat.
